Brian McCarthy is a recently married, third year law student at Porter School of Law in Boston. David Dimetrie is a major drug dealer who has remained a step ahead of the police for over a decade. His lavish lifestyle is fueled by a network of drug distributors and income from his shopping malls arranged to serve as an effective money laundering system. Dimetrie's elaborate plan to expand his operation will be costly. If all goes well, someone else will pay the price for his expansion.

When Brian is involved in a hunting accident in the woods of northwest Pennsylvania he becomes resolved to bring Dimetrie to justice. His decision to take matters into his own hands involves straying from his own ideals and breaking the law. When Brian is arrested he finds himself in an impossible situation. Now Brian has to win his first case or he will be added to Dimetrie's list of casualties.
