Scarred and Shattered — T.T. Kove

I saw it happen out of the corner of my eye. A dark-clothed, hooded person jumped in front of an oncoming car. I reacted on instinct, saving him from impact. Once safe on the pavement, I learned that he was someone from my past. Someone I had once inflicted pain upon, someone I'd failed back in college. Now might be the perfect time to try and make it all up to him -- if that is even possible after what I've done and with his own suicidal tendencies.

A Shattered Soul is a short story that can be read as a stand-alone, but it is meant as an insight into a minor character from the novel Scarred.
