Kate Emmanuel is terrified of getting hurt, so steers clear of emotional involvements: until she goes to stay in Liam Austin's house. Liam, an architect, designed and built the house that Kate falls in love with on first sight. She is also immediately drawn to the house's owner. They appear to both have the same objections to marriage.
