Description
He rode into a small town in Dakota one day riding a horse they said was a bay wearing all white from hat to boots, and the ladies all smiled a most "unusual" way. It wasn't long then when the men set out to rid themselves of the stranger since many of the women in town joined him in infidelity and loose morals. The sheriff Owen Lee becomes personally involved when his wife, Theresa, commits adultery with the stranger. Owen vows not to allow the stranger any peace until the sheriff gets even with him. That promise leads to a small town in northern Minnesota where he is too late to catch the stranger, but learns all about what happened in North Pole, a logging community on the shores of Lake Bemidji. Then returning to Dakota where the story started he finds that his hometown has been taken over by an old friend who has turned evil. The problem is of course he knows his old friend, Jack Pharmer, the preacher's brother is quicker than he is, which takes us to the surprising ending that ironically takes place back up in Northern Minnesota in a town called Farley, Owen Lee's birthplace.
