Samantha “Sam” Bloodworth, a journalist for The Digital Science Times, is at the Amundsen-Scott base at the South Pole covering a team of scientists when through one of their massive telescopes she sees an explosion on the moon.

An astronomer Sam meets online also saw the explosion, but before he can do more research he is murdered. Next, huge explosions are happening all over the earth. Meanwhile one of the telescopes has been sabotaged and someone points the finger at Sam. Then a scientist at Amundsen-Scott is murdered -- and Sam is under suspicion as the possible killer.
