Oskar Wins the Race — Stan R. Mitchell

In this first of eight stories, Oskar finds a number of interesting ways to practice for an upcoming event where he will attempt to win a big weiner dog race and be crowned its champion runner. Before he can become the race winner, Oskar must first coax his faithful companion, Myer, into helping to prepare for the big race.
