Description
What they find is something no one could have imagined. Detective Roman Stone is working hard to save the career he's nearly destroyed. When he gets called to Alexandria Bay, NY to help the small town police force find a popular missing teenager, hundreds of human bones start washing up on the shores of the St. Lawrence River and one simple case becomes the the biggest mystery of his life.
Chasing clues leads Roman to local historian Becca Quinn, she's beautiful, sassy and the last thing he needs while (for once) trying to keep his personal life out of his work. But she is the only one willing to show him around the old castles in the area, and bad habits die hard.
Becca heads up the local preservation society and spends her days working to restore some of the island mansions for a new tourism initiative. The last thing she expects is to become part of the investigation or for her life to be in danger; and she certainly doesn't expect to find herself attracted to some womanizing hotshot cop.
Something beyond imagination is lurking under the murky surface of the river waters, and a powerful local family is hiding incredible secrets that could unravel the entire mystery. If Roman and Becca can find a way to work together they just might stay alive long enough to unlock the mystery. But once they do, they might have wished they hadn't.
