Once a year teams of sled dogs compete in a 1,000â€"mile race. They cross mountains, rivers, forests, and frozen wastes of Alaska, urged on by their mushers for a week or more of ice, snow storms, and bitter cold. One dog is determined his team will win a prize. This is their story, a tale that goes behind the scenes of sled racing.
