The Runt — Rita Hestand

Tim Nelson was called the runt at school. He was shorter even than the girls. Tim was tired of them calling him that and he needed some space to sort out his problem. So he played hooky and went to the pond close to his house. There he sat on a limb of a tree and looked out on the pond, he felt very tall there. His mother explained that he was born much sooner than expected and he was very tiny.
