And his admittance set into motion a chain of events which would have a lasting effect upton the life of Jane Kemp, the midnight-to-eight supervisor of the recovery room suite.

Fist, when an emergency took Jane from Howard's side, the temperamental writer took her to task for being unconcerned with human agony--his own. A suitor of the nurse, feeling the honor of his beloved had been impugned, punched her accuser on the nose. And that brought into action a newscaster who rose publicly to Howard's defense.

By that time, Jane herself was ready for the services of a recovery room nurse.
