Chad, the father, is a hard-working detective on the police force of a suburban town in the Los Angeles area.

Betty, his wife, is young, lively, smart, and very much concerned with the well-being of her husband and children.

Cindy, the eldest child, bright, sensitive and extremely pretty, finds that the daughter of a detective faces special problems these days.

Bob, the middle son, is an attractive, amiable but firm-minded young man, whether the issue is the length of his hair, or a matter of wider importance.

Brian, the youngest, is sturdy and inventive and, like many another family “baby” has learned to turn some of the disadvantages of his position into advantages.
