It seems someone isn't playing by the rules….

The reading group at Norcester's specialist crime bookshop adore a cosy whodunnit, so are delighted to find themselves the guests of honour at a remote country house for the weekend, to inspect the extensive library of Lord and Lady Verity.

But when their tour guide plunges to her death from the tower, and a snowstorm cuts the manor off from the outside world, the amateur sleuths will have to assemble the clues, use everything they have learned from their favourite fictional detectives, and hope they make the right deduction….

About the author

Michael abandoned a successful career as a newspaper editor to write fiction. As an author, he completed Desmond Bagley's thriller Domino Island for posthumous publication and has written two sequels, Outback and Thin Ice, both published by HarperCollins. His debut play Rasputin's Mother won the Bristol Old Vic playwriting competition and subsequent work for the stage includes The Seagull Has Landed (Power Plays festival winner), MacHamLear (UK tour), Reality (Royal & Derngate) and the book and lyrics for Tess â€" The Musical (workshopped at the RSC). He has written narrative non-fiction for worldwide television, had short stories and poetry commissioned and published, and contributes regular essays for theatre programmes.
