Description
San Francisco reporter Ben Henry gets fired from The Courier for investigating police corruption a little too well. But alimony payments wait for no man, so he starts driving a cab. Late one night he goes to collect a fare in fashionable Pacific Heights, on Jackson Street, but no one's there--a no-go. Ben's used to them.
The next day he reads that the famous columnist Harry Shugart was found murdered in his house, the same house as Ben's no-go from the night before. It's Ben's chat with Shugart's pretty, willing daughter, and a conversation overheard in the back of his cab, that tips him off to who the mysterious killer might be....
