Description
In the comfort of a warm shower, Sarah grabbed a bottle of body wash, slid some of the gel on a wash cloth and finished scrubbing. She turned the shower off, threw a towel around her body and stepped out on the tiles to dry. She put on a silk gown and walked to the next room. She sat down on a chair next to the phone and dialed a few numbers. “Yellow!” “Hello Matt. It's me, Sarah.” “Hello darling, how are things down there? I was just about to call you. There's never news from a little town in Kentucky, much less the entire United States over here. Is everything okay,” Matt Quinn asked. “No Matt. Things are not good here. But I will be okay. I just,” she hesitated, “I just wanted to say I love you.” “I love you too dear, and I just got out of the meeting with the oil minister. I booked a flight back but what's the problem dear? “It's just dear,” she hesitated and said, “It's nothing dear, I'm fine.” “I'll be home by tonight and you can tell me then. I have a few packing to do, before catching the flight out.” She held back tears and composed herself. “Alright Matt,” she said. “I got to run dear. I'll tell you all about it when I get home. I got to pack now dear. See you soon,” Matt Quinn said. “Bye dear,” she said. She put the phone down and sat thinking for a moment. And now it comes down to this after all these years. She picked up the silver shiny cold thing that was lying on the desk, bringing it to her temple and pulled the trigger.
