Blood Red Meta — Michael Aronovitz

A professor and a professional rock and metal guitar player decide to start a podcast called The Kill or be Killed Contest, taking place in a block of abandoned buildings called Murdertown. The place is surrounded by a lethal electric fence, and the last of the twelve combatants living gets five million dollars. Of course, it is a hoax, as there is no block of buildings and no prize money. Competitively, the two creators start inventing the characters to populate this adventure, when real killers start applying. Both innovators are shocked when they end up inside Murdertown as the two last contestants.
