Thine Is the Power — Mary Frances Doner

It was early summer on Lake Mohican, and The Great Western Construction Company's Pumped Storage Project was in full swing. The purpose of the project was to provide better power resources and less pollution, but for the townspeople of Channel City, it only spelled disaster. Most of them had been uprooted from their homes and relocated, and opposition still raged vehemently.

Rage burned, too, in blonde Nancy Winters, but it was directed at Big Joe Harrison -- “The Eagle” -- the young and brilliant engineering expert in whom it seemed to Nancy that undue power was vested.

It is Nancy's wise father who understands her reaction to Big Joe and who enables her -- before it is too late -- to reassess the good that power can achieve.
