Percival Annum & the Spinning Clocks — Lea A. Henze

Smoke rises from factories along the cold Manchester horizon. Having grown up in the flowery fields of southern France where the earth was healthy and the sea air was warm, Madame Adelaide feels the oppression of the city keenly. However, when her husband is killed and her and her three children's futures are thrown spinning, Adelaide must find the strength to face the day with nothing but the clothes are their backs. Led by a man who seems to be their guardian angel, the Madame and her children make their way across England facing dangers, cold, and hunger. All the while, the Madame tries to figure out this strange person who lives a life far from ordinary - a life of intriguing music and spinning clocks.
