This is the Way This Story is Told — Karen Welch

The stories in this book are stories Kay and I have written together and told together for the last eight years. These are not traditional stories but they are told for the same reason animal stories are always told. Each of these stories teaches us something about ourselves. Each of them teaches us to 'do what the animals do. After all, that has always been the point of telling animal stories. Animals, whether they walk on four feet, fly in the air or swim beneath the surface of a millpond or the salt Sea, have always known what to do. They are our older brothers and sisters. They are our teachers - that's what the Old People say and we believe them.
