The thick Sundarban Swamp of southern India provides homes to villagers, teak loggers and man-eating tigers.
And Gods.
Ancient as the landscape and just as changeable, they live amid the mangroves that exist along the Sundarban's watery channels. Bonobibi, the compassionate forest goddess, acts through Nironjan, the village shaman, to keep the villagers safe from the tiger god, Daksin Ray.
But when Nironjan extends his safety to the teak loggers, it raises the ire of god and goddess. In the face of men's never- ending greed, can Nironjan find a way to placate a goddess?
