Deputy Janie Johnson is an independent and headstrong young woman. Being a deputy sheriff in a small town in Nevada keeps her busy, as does training for the state archery tournament in Las Vegas. She also can't help interfering with her friends' lives, although she wants no one butting into hers. Her world gets shaken to the core when she interferes one too many times, and family friend, Craig Ferguson, takes her to task. As she is reeling from Craig, she meets well driller, Mike Church, who threatens to pull the rug completely out from under her. Janie has built her life on being in control, and now she's at risk of losing it all.
