Soryn was promised answers to who she was if she left everything she knew to go to the mainland and deliver a message to the Tempris princess. Esylle, the Tempris princess, is convinced she is her kidnapped daughter, Lisana. Soryn knows better. Her real parents gave her up because she is dangerous.

The tribes find her and she finds out the truth about herself. The tribe princes are all fighting over her. She doesn't want to pick any of them because there are things she loves about all of them. She just wants to go back home and not get involved with this war between the tribes and the humans. She doesn't really have a choice.
