Leanna Builds a Genie Trap — Hazel Hutchins

K-Gr 2 Leanna sets out to capture a genie whom she believes is taking various things from around the house. In her attempts, she gets her foot caught in the sofa and discovers that the missing items are in between the sofa's cushions. Leanna goes from capturing a genie to talking to a sofawhich talks back. Hutchins' choice of words, such as soothers, may be confusing to children. The illustrations, done in colorful pastels are, at times, disproportionate and confusing.
