Description
In 1882 at sixteen, Jim Brannick, an unfortunate stepson, was forced from his McDowell creek home. He swathed a two-fisted, gun-slingin' cowhand adventure throughout Junction City, Manhattan, Alta Vista, Council Grove, and Abilene, Kansas. Danger filled travels that would finally take him, wounded and hunting cover, to the safety of a hidden cave that exits into an extinct volcano and the treasure it hid.

5.0 out of 5 stars- A trip back in time!, April 4, 2010

This review is from: Brannick (Paperback)

This is a fabulous fiction novel that incorporates many well researched facts for the period and place. Mr. Ross captures a point in recent history which we can still relate to - if you are from this particular part of the country. I would recommend it as a good, light read for anybody interested in the history of the western frontier and its hard scrabble pioneers.

Readers should be familiar with the Ross name on books dealing with fictionalized frontier history…Harold Ross spins a fine yarn with a fantastic cast of frontier characters…
