Jake Constable is trying to go straight, but the wrong turns he's made in the past keep getting in the way.

Such as letting his friend Richard talk him into throwing a party in the swanky house Jake was hired to look after for one of his ex-wife's clients. The first to admit it wasn't his best decision, Jake only starts to realize it might've been his worst when the guest list expands to include a dead guy in the bathroom. Plus The Norwegian, a violent drug dealer with a serious grudge against Jake.

When Mickey Wu, rightful owner of the multimillion-dollar crime scene, returns home early, only Richard's history of modeling Mickey's underwear saves Jake from having to clean up after the party. But he still has to come clean with his ex-wife, high-end Vancouver realtor Nina. When she unexpectedly lets him off the hook, Jake doesn't even have time to enjoy his reprieve before the crime spree resumes, with a continued focus on domiciles for which he feels responsible.

These domestic disturbances are in danger of turning into an international incident when Nina's power-broker uncle shows up to turn the screws on Jake, only to discover they are too loose for him to find purchase. To protect himself and his friends, Jake is left with no other option but to attempt to dupe two semi-secret Chinese government agents. The upshot being that, if he's successful, Jake might even be able to square things with Mickey Wu in the bargain.
