Ron Doyle had left his girlfriend Lisa in a little house in Nebraska where he thought she would be safe. He then slipped through a strange and dusty streetcar window in Los Angeles, hoping to find his friend Gerry and warn him that he was about to die in the Solomon Islands of the past. Upon his return, he finds that Lisa is anything but safe. She is gone, but more than that. There is no record of her existence. He has done something in the past to prevent her from being born. The only thing he can do is to go back to a time earlier than before, and hope he can correct his mistake.
