The Splendid Outcast The operation on Jim Horton's skull had been successful and it was believed that he would recover. The military man had been wounded in the head, shoulder and leg. Out of his clouded brain, slowly, the facts came to him as he lay in his hospital bed. Did it have something to do with the remarkable likeness between himself and his twin brother Harry? Yes, now he remembered. He had taken Harry's lieutenant's uniform in the darkness, giving Harry his own corporal's outfit. Perhaps, he was really Harry and not Jim Horton at all? But wait. Harry had been married. And Moira was waiting for her husband outside his hospital room.
