Life for five year old Hilda was everything but rosy growing up in a small village in 17th century Salem, Massachusetts. Her looks were atrocious, she tried to overlook the teasing that was caused by it but resentment and hatred started growing inside her warm heart. Being that Hilda had an aunt named Helga that was a practicing witch only escalated hatred towards her from the townspeople. Hilda didn't know her aunt very well because days after her aunt presented her with a spell book and told her to keep it nearby should she need it her aunt was burned at the stake for practicing witchcraft.
