Martin's Mice — Dick King-Smith

Who would ever believe that a cat would prefer to keep mice as pets instead of eating them? That's the way it is for Martin the cat and Drusilla the mouse.

Drusilla soon has Martin helping her with her babies and protecting her from the rest of his mouse-eating family. That's why poor Martin is surprised when his pet mice want to leave him. Being a good-natured cat, he lets them go. Then Martin himself is sold as a pet.

Now all he can do is think of his family, Drusilla, and his freedom. Can he escape and find his way home?
