Christmas is two weeks away, and Millie McCall is as excited as ever about the upcoming holiday. There's only one problem -- Millie has an overwhelming burden for Lower Lankpost, a low-income section of town. The church-sponsored fundraiser to help meet the needs of those living there is coming up short toward its monetary goal, and it looks as if it will take a miracle to make up the difference. However, Millie and her friends are believers in miracles, and they think they may have found a solution to the problem by way of a strange contest advertised in the local newspaper by a “Scrooge-like” millionaire. It's a race against the clock as the kids put their faith to the test in their attempt to solve the nine clues of Christmas.
