Description
The Indigenous Way is about a Native American boy named Shanti, who has conflicts with his siblings and his peers. His father abuses alcohol and has anger problems. His parents' marriage is failing, so everyone is frightened and confused. Shanti struggles to find peace in the midst of these conflicts, but it alludes him, so he feels alone and hopeless. Yet he is not alone, because the Great Spirit hears him and responds with healing answers through wise animals and a tribal elder. They teach him how to ask for and receive spiritual guidance, open up to love, forgive himself and others, find inner peace in the midst of conflict, and give in ways that heal. The guidance that he receives is based on universal principles; not religious dogma. These are teaching stories for children and adults that also entertain. The life skills that are taught in each chapter draw on those from prior chapters, so it is better to start at the beginning of the book. Reading them together with your children will bring more love into your world.
