Gold in Askov! — David Feist

Long ago, before the Hinckley Fires, Grampa Hansen's granddaddy (whose name was Lars Gunnarson) came over to Partridge. Back then there was Banning Junction here and Partridge, too. My great-great grandfather Lars Gunnarson bought 160 acres to start a farm, and that land has been in our family down to this very day. Lars Gunnarson came to Partridge on a beautiful palomino mule, after he bought the 160 acres from a bank. He left his small family in Hinckley and traveled on Sally his mule to the woods that would become his wilderness farm. -Jordan Hansen (age 10) Askov, Minnesota
