When Robbie Sutherland returns from a spell on duty at Kinvara lighthouse to spend the Christmas with his family, the homecoming is a bitter-sweet affair: Robbie's wife Hannah has never settled in the close-knit Kinvara community and their baby son suffers from cerebral palsy. Only his relationship with Morna Jean Sommero offers Robbie the warmth and solace his heart craves-and she has news that will turn his life upside down.
