In the late 1800s, Hendricks Potter and his partner, Denver, have been searching for a notorious outlaw, a robber and a murderer. They are forced to split up, each taking a different route when the outlaw disappears at a supposed fork in the road. Rumors spread about her through the town, which disturb her. But when Hendricks comes into her life, the humiliating rumors are no longer important to her. Making sure Hendricks is safe is her only priority. The two form a close bond that supersedes any other relationships in their lives.
