Lori Adams and the Old Carter House Mystery — Bernard Palmer

The old Carter house provides a perfect setting of mystery for Lori and her sister. Two of its former owners have died and only Aunt Sarah, a kind old Negro woman, is left to take care of things. There seems to be a treasure hidden in the house -- but no one appears to know what or where. Marauding motorcyclists try to force Aunt Sarah to leave the old Carter house -- interesting events result when she stubbornly refuses. Not satisfied with mischief, the motorcyclists turn to more direct persuasion. Lori and her friends, in trying to help the old woman, become entangled in a web of mystery.

Horseback riding, a new colt, antiques, a flat tire, roaring motorcycles and the police add up to an exciting adventure. Lori learns that God gives the strength to do the right thing even in the face of real difficulities.
