After an accident leaves Lucilla with multi-colored artificial eyes, she is shunned by society. Rejected by her boyfriend, Lucilla escapes to Mars as one of the four scientists observing the terraforming of the planet. She is content with her solitary, routine life on Mars Station 2. But, when disaster strikes, she can expect no help from Earth and the scientists on the other stations have their own problems. She must overcome her fears if she is to survive in the hostile environment.

This Sci-Fi romance story is set a few years before the adventures in EUROPA, Book 1 of Taxyon Space.
