Haunted Hill — Andrew Oliver

When Sam and Stephanie are asked to photograph eagles on Haunted Hill, they little suspect that their lives will be endangered. Investigating the hill's legendary moaning for a school project, they learn of a boy who disappeared there in 1842. What happened to him? Does the hill really moan? How did a canoeist suddenly appear out of nowhere on the creek below their hilltop vantage? Further, is one of Sam's brothers involved in the drinking and drug parties currently shocking residents of their southern Wisconsin town? In this story the twelve-year-olds develop a friendship with two elderly neighbors -- and land in the midst of a present day mystery.
