The Napoleonic Wars were ravaging Europe, reaching out their bloody hands to touch the lives of innocent people. Patricia Wright was one of those people. Widowed when her husband was killed in His Majesty's Navy, alone and struggling to survive London's wartime hardships, she accepted a position as governess to Roger Hamden's son on the mysterious island of Antigua in the West Indies.
