About This Book

Wolfcreek Incident This is the heart-warming story of a young half-breed Cherokee Indian named Samuel Adamson the Third, or Little Bear. Samuel was torn between two worlds--his white father's and his Indian mother's. This confused and frightened young man kidnaps the Irish, flaming-haired, Della Louise McCann off the sidewalk of a small Oklahoma town and takes her on horseback to Fort Worth, Texas. The young woman sees past Samuel's impetuousness and his outward appearance. Della looks into his very soul, and falls in love with him. When Della's father finds her, she is planning to be married to Samuel. Will such a union be accepted? Samuel and Della were my grandparents. Other incidents were invented by me to correlate the known with the unknown into a plausible story. It is quite possible there's more truth than fiction here, besides, truth is stranger than fiction. What a heritage I've been given! Or rather, what a heritage I've given them.
