Vicious Circle Part I

When a worried listener to The Psychic Connection, a radio programme dealing with the paranormal, calls about what sounds like a particularly nasty case of emotional blackmail by local Tarot reader and self-styled spiritual teacher, Bob Ferris, the programme's resident panel, Luke Marriot, Joss Cherry, Isabel Sinclair, Geraldine Bird, and James Myerson, are curious. Just what is Bob up to? They decide to investigate, using all their varied abilities, both rational and psychic. But when Bob suddenly disappears, it seems their investigation is back to square one.
Meanwhile, the remains of a woman's body have been found in a dried-out creek-bed in Queensland, Australia, not far from a former cult commune. Police investigations reveal that the victim, Claire Lomax, was eight months pregnant at the time of her death, and died of a heroin overdose. But someone had to have dumped her body in the creek .... Detective Sergeant Declan Kelly is dispatched to New Zealand to trace the whereabouts of the last known person to see her alive.
