Through Storms of Life

Franchesca Stern, a young widow, leaves everything behind to journey to America for a new start in life. What will this new life bring? More pain and heartache, or success? Alone and pregnant, she wonders if the opportunities that everyone talks about in America might be there for her. Gretchen Wagner, a young orphan girl recently come of age, has run away from the convent orphanage. Impulsively she buys a third-class ticket in hopes of starting a new life. Their paths cross as both Franchesca and Gretchen find themselves booked in the same cabin during the voyage. Although total opposites, their personalities seem to complement each other and their friendship grows. They have many adventures onboard as well as later when they reach America, as their dreams become reality in their search for a new life.
