About This Book

Perceval Gibbon (1879-1926) was an author and journalist, serving for the Rand Daily Mail in South Africa, as well as for other publications. He is best remembered for his short stories, the best of which often contained an ironic twist at the end. He was born in Trelech, Carmarthenshire, Wales. His early works were influenced by his extensive travels throughout Europe, America, and Africa. During World War I he was a war correspondent. Amongst his works are African Items (1903), Souls in Bondage (1904), Salvator (1905), Vrouw Grobelaar and Her Leading Cases (1905), The Adventures of Miss Gregory (1911), Margaret Harding (1912) and The Second Class Passenger (1913).
