About This Book

People believe a funeral denotes the end of life. After working the funeral business I realized funerals harbor the beginning of mixed feelings toward the deceased. Working with mourners, I found there were stories associated with deaths. Funerals spur friction between family members. Old hurts, jealousies, and pent-up emotions are released. My story is based on research involving crime against seniors. Data shows often deaths involving seniors are initially thought of as natural causes, and later detected as crimes…even murder. That is the case in this cozy mystery. Dana Saxton, a 35-year-old married woman, is summoned to her hometown first by a screaming distraught mother calling for help. Then a call from a brother who resides with the mother saying their mother is hospitalized. She has suffered a heart attack. Dana rushes home, and spends months there. Leaving, her life is never the same.
