One event has had more influence on Western culture than almost any other in history: the crucifixion of Jesus of Nazareth. For 2,000 years the world has sought to better know, and to better understand, this man and His message. But what about the two criminals who were crucified alongside Jesus on that historic day? Who were these men who were tied by fate to one of history's most extraordinary teachers? Little or nothing has been told of their story.
The Thieves of Golgotha is an intensely dramatic portrayal of these two felons and their final days: Nikos, a free-born Greek sold into Roman slavery by his father, and Azriel, an unrepentant, agnostic Galilean. In prison they meet Bartholomew, a follower of Jesus, whose unshakeable faith gives them pause, and Barabbas, the Judean who would be released so that Jesus could fulfill His destiny. From their prison window, they observe the trial with Pilate; and finally they meet Jesus on the crosses of Golgotha.
