      When Scott Beavis found his sister Hannah in the arms of Johnnie Dakers, he lost his temper and in the ensuing struggle was accidentally shot. Hannah persuades Dakers to flee south, for she fears the consequences if he does not. Her father wants vengeance and he engages bounty hunter, Smilin' Joe Nelson, to hunt down and kill Dakers. And so it might have ended but for the intervention of a Kentuckian gunfighter, who had his own path of vengeance to follow.
