About This Book

Follow Thomas McAllen and his family from Edinburg, Scotland across the cold Atlantic in 1743 to follow other immigrants who were drawn to freedom, and to have their own land in upstate New York in the settlement of Cherry Valley. Few settlers ventured into this region that was still a wilderness and where the French and the British were flexing their muscle to control. Little did the McAllen's know of the power struggle that was happening in the Mohawk Valley and west to Oswego, and soon would erupt into a war. But here, in Cherry Valley they would not run from a war that may come into their beautiful valley, they would stand and fight in this French and Indian War, but will also stand firm in the following war, a war that would be more bloodier then the last. The Cherry Valley massacre would not have them run to Albany to escape and hide from their enemies, but they would stand together as a strong determined family, and they would survive in anyway they could, and to protect their homes and land, and each other.
