About This Book

After Jim Hess is accused of molesting his daughter by his wife, she recants her original statement and the charges are dismissed. Firmly believing, by her family, that she had lied to gain custody of their children in an apparent upcoming divorce, his in-laws propose that Jim stay with them until he can get his life back together. After accepting their offer Jim realizes how ruthless his wife can be when he tries to re-establish his relationship as a father to his kids. Ignoring warnings from her family, that she is using him, he continues his futile attempts to make his children part of his life again. Unexpectedly out of a job, he eventually finds himself in New York driving a semi-truck, where he meets his future wife Donna. The shocking news of his nephew’s suicide awakens him to the reality of his own situation and enhances his determination to liberate his children from the clutches of the system. After reopening his case, six months of stalling, and the discovery of an indicated report accusing him of molesting his son, it becomes apparent that CYS’S only concern is to prevent Mr. Hess from having contact with his children.
