The Mind's Eye

Michael G. Henderson is a fifty-one-year-old Englishman who works as a teacher in a small village on the coast of Iceland. Hedda Valen is a thirty-six-year-old Norwegian woman who owns her own web-design company in the capital of Norway. Both are intelligent and well-read people who should have known better than to fall in love over the Internet with someone whom they have never met. Through emails and real life events, we soon begin to realize how easy it is to read what we want to read and how easy it is to see what we want to see, especially when we only have the written word to lean on. Michael and Hedda are just two of the lonely people in this world, and through their lives we realize how white lies, ignorance, and foolish dreams become a reality for those involved. HILDE AARDAL has published short stories and articles in Norway. Being disabled with juvenile arthritis, she spent years in organization work, media and politics. She and her boyfriend, Gunnar Halld³rsson, divide their time between Norway and Iceland.
