The Last Tornado

The sky turned to a sickly shade of green, darkening until the strings of grey clouds began a slow-rotating path around the center of the threatening storm. The same center which would be the point of collision of an unseasonable cold front and a moist, humid Gulf air mass.It churned in a counter-clockwise direction until the massive growth of the wall cloud accelerated upwards through the lowering cloud shelf, and then beyond. Towering higher than the eye could see.Then it began to move. Slowly at first. Then increasing in speed as the destructive power hidden within it dipped to the earth; threatening everything in its path.The same path which would be the turning point in the lives of three generations.
