About This Book

The Last Inquisitor is a story of political intrigue set in Clinton-esque Washington... fast and compelling centered on a moving and passionate love story. This is the first novel written by a former magazine editor, now an internet fashion news publisher, and a Manhattan lawyer for private intelligence investigators who has authored a satirical newsletter in the intelligence community. The chemistry between the female and male authors make the book a smart mix of compelling romance, up-to-the-minute politics, and realistic post-cold war intrigue, which with the commentary, paints a fresco of the good and evil of political America in the 1990's. The lead character is a 35 year old, attractive and gutsy federal prosecutor whom an embattled President nominates for an unprecedented post, and with whom he falls in love. Her fiercely independent lifestyle draws opposition from a host of special interest groups. But it is her past, and an obsessive quest to prosecute former East Bloc secret police who slipped into the US, which cause powerful dark forces-including a larger than life former KGB heavy and, for a maze of riveting reasons, certain CIA factions-to so oppose her nomination that they smear her politically, then threaten the romantically reckless President with a painful choice, and ultimately plot her assassination. It is a mix of political passions, national security interests, media smears, a jealous wife and mistress, murders, attempted murders, a terrifying closing chase, a modern woman heroine, gay heroes, an ambivalent rescuer, fabulously evil spy villains, and a charismatic, libidinous and passionate President. It is political and social commentary, written in an easy journalistic style, spiced by inside items of interest.
