Imagine the horror of a virus that infects and kills only newborns.
CDC researcher, Dr. Jamie Carpenter, watches in alarm as her prediction of a pandemic starts to materialize. As the death toll rises, she begins a race against time to identify the virus and find a cure for the mysterious disease.
Exhausting every investigative tool available at the CDC, Jamie reluctantly concludes that the spread of the virus was no accident. A simultaneous investigation leads FBI agent Alex Tanner to the same conclusion. He convinces Jamie to join him in an undercover operation at Sayer Pharmaceuticals, the suspected source of the infection.
The list of possible suspects mounts as Jamie and Alex accelerate their probe, afraid the maniacal killer will find a new way to spread the virus before they catch him. Working around the clock, Jamie and the Sayer team struggle to develop an antiviral drug to treat the fatal disease.
Their efforts and the story reach a climax on Jekyll Island where the evil began.
